IMPORTANT 注意事项 :This is a self-reliant tour. Participants must be prepared to handle personal needs independently. Tours leaders facilitate logistics and do not act as personal attendants. Physical fitness is required to finish full-day hikes. All transfers will be by train and public bus only. There will be no private transport.
Tour members must carry their own luggage, except where luggage transfer is arranged on days 2 to 5.
Accommodations are small local-run businesses with basic facilities only. Heating, hot water and toiletries will be available. Accommodation choices are limited — 3 to 4 people may need to share a room on certain nights. Rooms will be allocated by tour leaders. We will arrange for twin-sharing wherever possible.

Assemble at airport for overnight flight to Osaka.
From Osaka, transfer by train to Kii-Tanabe, gateway town to the Kumano Kodo. Visit Kozan-ji Temple, a large Buddhist Shingon temple complex, visited by many who pay their respects at the grave of Ueshiba Morihei, founder of Aikido martial art.

Over the course of four days, traverse through the endless mountains of the Kii Peninsula via rough forest trails and ancient flagstones paths. Follow the Kumano Kodo trail to the three grand shrines of Kumano: Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha, and Kumano Nachi Taisha - known collectively as the Kumano Sanzan. Stand under the largest torii shrine gate in the world (33.9 meters tall and 42 meters wide). Spend a night in Yunomine Onsen, one of Japan’s oldest hot spring town, with a chance to soak in the World Heritage Tsuboyu Onsen and boil onsen eggs and vegetables (self-expense). For a unique souvenir, collect beautiful Kumano Kodo stamps located at various stages of the trail. Complete the Kumano Kodo at Kii-Katsuura seaside town.
Hiking days: Day 2, Day 3 and Day 5 (Rest day on Day 4)
Total hiking distance: About 45 km over three days
Average hiking hours: 7 to 8 hours per day (depending on each person’s speed)
Terrain: Tree-covered woodland. Paths are often covered in tree roots with long sections of slippery moss-covered broken flagstones. Involves difficult terrain (roots, steep uneven staircases) and occasional easy terrain (pavement or well-maintained trail).
Difficulty level: Intermediate to hard. Long distance, full-day walking. With steep elevation gain and descent.
Highlights: Oyunohara Torii shrine gate, Kumano Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha, Kumano Nachi Taisha, Yunomine Onsen Town, climb up 538 stone steps to Kamikura Jinja.

50% of the tour fare is payable as deposit at the time of booking. Once tour is fully booked, we will issue our tour confirmation. The remaining 50% balance (“Balance”) shall be paid no later than 5 days from the date of tour confirmation (“Balance Deadline”). If the Balance is not paid by the Balance Deadline, you shall be deemed to have withdrawn and cancelled your booking on the day after the Balance Deadline.
团费用50%作为预订订金，订金在报名时支付。成团后我方将通知成团确定。成团后的5天内必须在付清50%余款。5天后未付清尾款者，视为客户于单方解除报名。
